Welcome to Copper Uncovered.
My name is Roman and I offer a wide variety of handmade art pieces and jewellery products made out of Copper and Brass.
Thanks to my dad and his roofing business, I was lucky enough to work with metals from an early age. I trained to become a qualified Roof Plumber in Switzerland and I used to install copper roofing, cladding, guttering and downpipes on residential and commercial buildings in Switzerland, Australia and New Zealand.
Copper has always been one of my favourite metals. I like that it is shiny at the start, malleable and once oxidised, turning into a totally different colour through moisture, exposure to air, and a special heat treatment.
Creating art is what I used to do as a hobby and give to friends and family as gifts. In 2015 I started to sell my products through art galleries in New Zealand. Since then, I have increased my range from a single copper flower to 280 individual products today.
I use a variety of special tools to cut, shape and treat the metals. My passion is turning ideas into 3 dimensional pieces of art. I believe, ‘If you can think it, you can make it’. Please do get in touch if you have an idea that you would like to see made.
All of my pieces are handmade using new and recycled Copper & Brass in Raumati South on the beautiful Kapiti Coast. I look forward to sharing my love of copper with you!
